Knitwear for Norm Shoes

EMILIE BURNFEIND

“The entirely recyclable and compostable sneaker is created out of only three bio-based materials. We developed a knitted upper made from dog hair that was shed while grooming and would otherwise have been discarded.”

NORM SHOES

“Norm Shoes go beyond sustainability. The 3D knitted upper is entirely knitted in one piece without creating any waste: even the lace loops are integrated in the design.”

DECATHLON

“Decathlon imagined a new double-layered hiking shoe with an inner and an outer part. The use of elastic yarn allows to experiment with 3D structure knits and create breathable surfaces.”

RHENOFLEX

“We partnered with Rhenoflex for the development of reinforcement materials that do not affect the air permeability and flexibility of knitted fabric in a negative way. Our involvement ranged from extensive market research to testing the behaviour of newly created formulas on knitted swatches and in actual sneaker designs.”
